Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

361 PLM keeps a machinery manufacturer's bill of materials, engineering change, CE technical file, cost and after-sales service in the same database: 8 sub-modules, 84 business objects and 11 ready-made decision screens.

Live today — measured

Figures were counted by query in the makina demo tenant on 15/09/2026. They are demo data, not customer results. Screenshots in the downloadable documents show the Turkish user interface.

  • Real B-Rep CAD in the browser (Open CASCADE): STEP, IGES and BREP files are parsed directly in the browser; no CAD licence is needed. Measured in the browser on 15/09/2026, the engine's own counter showed 818 solid bodies / 920,183 triangles for a 5-axis machining centre assembly. Native CAD files (SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor and others) are managed as documents with revision and status control: 30 CAD documents in the demo tenant.
  • Document vault inside the platform: check-out locks the document with a database record that survives a restart, and a second user is rejected; check-in writes a new version and keeps an immutable copy with SHA-256 hash, file size, author and revision record; check-out can be undone and versions are listed. The check-in rule is XML configuration: while an open change order exists on the part or design, check-in is rejected (6 documents blocked in the demo tenant). For STEP, IGES and BREP the server writes a thumbnail, a GLB preview file and solid/triangle counts to the record (818 / 920,183 for the same assembly, identical to the browser). The vault band is read-only on mobile; desktop tools can call the vault with a personal access token scoped to vault methods, time-limited and revocable.
  • Natural-language 3D scene control: a free-form sentence goes to 361's own AI engine and is applied to the scene (example: "open the model halfway" produces a 50% section). When a request cannot be resolved the system does not claim it acted; it lists what it can do.
  • Bill of materials and cost: 22 bills of materials with 90 line items; cost and weight roll-up and revision comparison; 10 quote-versus-actual cost comparisons with deviation.
  • Engineering change: 22 change requests and 22 change orders; today 19 orders are not closed. 34 affected items are tracked one by one and an order does not close until they are completed. The "Check Open Work Orders" action lists affected work orders; automatic stock blocking is not claimed.
  • EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 technical file: mandatory document items, conformity route and retention period in the record: 10 files, 70 document items; today 10 files have a missing item and the cockpit shows it. The system does not replace a notified body or sign the declaration of conformity.
  • ISO 12100 and EN ISO 13849-1:2023: 50 hazards; initial and residual risk are derived fields (severity × probability); the required performance level (PLr) is calculated from the Annex A risk graph.
  • Serial machine and Digital Product Passport: 60 serial machines with an as-built record and a passport download; today 36 serial machines have no technical file linked. Passport fields for ISO 14067 carbon footprint exist and fill as data is entered.
  • REACH/RoHS and CBAM data model: 15 substances with CAS/EC numbers and 46 conformity records; data models for SCIP and CBAM (goods category, CN code, origin, direct emissions, declaration deadline).
  • Service and spare parts: 60 spare parts with a catalogue link, wear tracking with remaining life; today 2 parts are at the critical wear threshold and an automation opens a draft spare-part order.

Specialist AI agents and automations

  • 7 specialist PLM agents: CE File Auditor, Engineering Change Impact Analyst, Supply Risk Analyst, Quote Cost Deviation Estimator, Quality–Design Feedback Analyst, REACH/RoHS Export Compliance Scanner, Spare Parts and Wear Planner. Agents read the live record with tools; answers are demo-data based.
  • 10 PLM automations: 5 have a run trace; 5 are defined and enabled and wait for their triggering event. "Runs every day" is only said of the first group.

Not in the product — not claimed

These items are roadmap or out of scope and are not claimed in any 361 PLM material:

  • Add-in inside SolidWorks, NX, Inventor or Creo; automatic EBOM import from the CAD tree
  • Conversion of proprietary formats (SLDPRT, CATPart, PRT, IPT); 3D diff between two revisions
  • ECAD (EPLAN/Altium) unified BOM, CAE result import, CAM/G-code revision lock
  • IoT / OPC UA / MQTT telemetry and automatic ECR from telemetry
  • CMM / laser scan deviation heat map
  • WebXR, Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest or AR field guide
  • Generative topology / FEA, Monte Carlo tolerance stack-up, modal vibration analysis
  • Voice CAD control, semantic PMI / MBD layer, automatic ISO 128 drawings
  • Parametric 3D CPQ with live pricing, supplier 3D RFQ portal
  • Automatic SCIP submission to ECHA, CBAM tax calculation or optimisation

Who it is for

  • Industries: industrial machinery and equipment manufacturers — machine tools, presses, plastics, packaging, food processing, textile, construction and agricultural machinery, cranes, pumps, woodworking, HVAC.
  • Roles: general manager, R&D director, quality and CE compliance lead, after-sales service manager, IT architect.

Part of the 361 platform

PLM shares the same data layer with production, purchasing, quality and service modules. Let us start with one real bill of materials, your open changes and one machine's technical file.
